Field Sales Engineer - Commercial Products Groups
Amphenol High Speed and Commercial Products Groups are the market leader for high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Strategic Market (Networking/IT Datacom). Our products enable the electronics revolution and are key for major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are seeking a Field Sales Engineer for our Focused Markets team. The position is remote, based in the Southeast.

As a Sales Engineer, you will interface with external customers and internal teams (product development, marketing, applications) to sell and promote all Amphenol products within an assigned territory and accounts, including OEMs and distributors. Success involves design win activities and channel management. You will develop strategies to differentiate our products and solutions, expand our customer base, and increase penetration at existing accounts, including key global accounts. This role offers insight into Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Product Development functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide sales leadership and collaborate with Field Applications Engineers and Business Units.
- Promote and sell Amphenol products to existing customers and new prospects.
- Manage large multimillion-dollar OEM accounts and drive activity across a global sales channel.
- Oversee Networking, IT, and Datacom strategies across North America, interfacing with Sales Reps, Distributors, and teams in Mexico & Asia.
- Identify interconnect opportunities/applications of Amphenol products and collaborate with customer engineering teams to design in new products.
- Develop and execute sales plans and growth strategies for your territory and customers.
- Meet or exceed sales quotas through new design wins and channel management.
- Motivate customers to increase product content in their designs.
- Support technical aspects of the sales cycle, including marketing support for product development and implementation.
- Address complex interconnect problems and technical inquiries to provide excellent customer service.
- Track orders and revenue per customer.
- Build rapport and support customers with samples, delivery info, drawings, specifications, and quality issues.
- Understand the market and competition thoroughly.
- Stay informed about new products and industry developments.
- Conduct regular customer visits and travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering with a technical background.
- Business/Marketing aptitude.
- Knowledge of the interconnect solutions industry; experience in energy storage, eMobility, or lighting is a plus.
- At least 3 years of field sales and applications experience or related experience, preferably in energy markets.
- Understanding of international business practices is advantageous.

- Strong sales negotiation skills for technical design wins, vendor approvals, contracts, and partnerships.
- Technical aptitude with extensive product and application knowledge; ability to assess and solve customer design challenges.
