Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to support and audit safety programs in the Water Facilities South district.You will help implement Site Specific Safety Plans, verify compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations, and collaborate with field teams to maintain a safe work environment.

Your duties include assisting with incident investigations, hazard inspections, and safety training across projects, ensuring adherence to policies and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current OSHA requirements.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Certification as a Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers and MS Word/Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varying climates.

Responsabilités

• Assist in developing, reviewing, updating, and communicating the Site-Specific Safety Plan.
• Collaborate with the craft daily in the field to promote safety program buy-in.
• Exercise Stop Work authority to enforce policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations based on leading indicators.
• Encourage and advise staff to execute the SSSP.
• Assist with maintaining project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance.
• Assist with first aid and maintain EMS/clinic relationships.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Complete daily hazard inspections and support corrective actions.
