Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist for the Water Facilities South district. You will support and audit the Site Specific Safety Plan in the field, ensuring compliance with OSHA/MSHA and client requirements.

Reporting to the Project Safety Manager, you will help with safety training and incident investigations on active sites. You will collaborate with craft teams daily, promote safety program ownership, and assist with maintaining project records, first aid, and corrective

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in and ownership.
• Enforce Stop Work responsibilities to ensure policy compliance.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations based on leading indicators.
• Support staff and craft in executing the SSSP and safety training.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and incident records.
• Assist with first aid and relationships with EMS and clinics.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct daily hazard inspections and support corrective actions.
• Review work plans and safety documentation prior to start.
