Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist I to support and audit safety programs on project sites. You will work under the Project Safety Manager, help implement the Site Specific Safety Plan, and ensure adherence to contract safety expectations and regulatory requirements.

You will engage with operations to identify hazards, assist with corrective actions, and help maintain OSHA/MSHA compliant records while promoting a strong safety culture across teams.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP).
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in.
• Support with corrective actions and protective measures in the field.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and incident records.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS and client requirements.
