Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to support and audit our safety programs on field projects. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and help implement Site Specific Safety Plans, ensuring compliance with OSHA/MSHA standards and company procedures across projects in the Power Market.

You will assist with incident investigations, training, and maintaining project safety files, while collaborating with operations and craft to drive continuous improvement in safety

Qualifications

• OSHA 30, 500 and 510 certifications.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
• Legal authorization to work without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, update, and communicate the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP).
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in and ownership.
• Enforce Stop Work responsibilities to ensure policy compliance.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations using leading indicators.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, and client requirements.
• Maintain OSHA/MSHA compliant project files and incident records.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Perform hazard inspections and support corrective actions.
