Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to support and audit safety programs on our projects. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and help implement the Site Specific Safety Plan in the field.

Responsibilities include verifying compliance with OSHA/MSHA, assisting with incident investigations, conducting hazard inspections, and delivering safety training. The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to work at varied site locations.

Qualifications

• Degree preferred in OH&S, construction mgmt, or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Safety Professional or EMT certification preferred.
• MS Word and Excel proficiency.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the SSSP.
• Collaborate with the craft daily to promote safety program ownership.
• Exercise Stop Work responsibilities to ensure policy adherence.
• Plan, prioritize, and problem-solve with operations daily.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Provide safety training on policies including OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS.
