Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to implement and support the Site Specific Safety Plan in the field. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and help ensure work aligns with contract, client, and company safety standards.

You will assist with incident investigations, safety training, and maintaining OSHA/MSHA compliant project files, while supporting a safe work environment across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30/500/510 certifications completed.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational/time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, reviewing, updating, and communicating the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) for the field.
• Collaborate with craft and operations to promote buy-in of the safety program.
• Perform Stop Work to enforce policies and work plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with field operations on leading indicators and upcoming work.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, orientation, and client requirements.
