Job summary

Kiewit in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an Entry Level Safety Specialist to develop, support and audit safety programs under the Nobody Gets Hurt principle. You will help implement and monitor the Safe System of Safety Practices across projects and sites.

You will work with field teams, assist with incident investigations, maintain OSHA/MSHA compliance, and support training efforts to protect workers and equipment in a dynamic power market environment.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30, 500 and 510 certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Safety Professional or EMT certification preferred.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the SSSP to all stakeholders including subcontractors.
• Collaborate with field craft to promote buy-in and ownership of the safety program.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations daily based on leading indicators and upcoming work.
• Assist with incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance.
