Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist I to support field safety programs across our projects.

The role involves aiding managers and crews in implementing safety policies, conducting trainings, and assisting with incident investigations to improve site safety performance. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health and at least 1 year of related experience, with ongoing opportunities for OSHA certification and professional growth in a large general contractor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of safety and health experience; construction industry a plus.
• Willingness to obtain or expand OSHA and safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with pre-job safety planning and hazard identification.
• Help deliver safety training and education to personnel.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and observations with senior staff.
• Assist in investigating injuries and incidents and communicate corrective actions.
• Distribute routine safety communications and updates on requirements.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and vendors.
• Serve as a secondary contact for safety authorities when needed.
