Job summary

Kokosing Industrial, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist I to provide field support, help implement safety policies, and contribute to regulatory compliance across projects in the construction sector.

The role requires coordinating training, safety planning, audits, and incident investigations, with a focus on reducing injuries and improving safety performance while supporting project teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health or equivalent
• At least 1 year of safety/health experience; construction industry a plus
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations and safety policies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to interface with clients and team members
• Willingness to learn and grow into independent safety program leadership
• Ability to work in a high-production environment with extended hours as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategies to reduce injuries and incidents
• Support delivery of safety training and education to personnel
• Help with pre-job safety planning and emergency plan development
• Coordinate safety meetings and training programs for effective communication
• Conduct safety audits, inspections and observations and communicate corrective actions
• Assist with incident investigations and routine safety communications
• Support project safety programs with subcontractors and third parties
• Serve as a backup contact for OSHA and other authorities when needed
