Job summary

Consigli Construction Co. is seeking a Safety Manager to support field operations across job sites in North Carolina.

This role will develop and maintain the safety program, conduct site visits, lead trainings, and drive a proactive safety culture among crews including superintendents, carpenters, laborers, and masons. The position requires a strong background in construction safety, OSHA standards, and the ability to travel to multiple sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.
• OSHA 500 Trainer certification or trainer-level experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to job sites.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company-wide safety policies and develop job-specific safety plans.
• Conduct regular job site visits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Lead frequent safety trainings and meetings at the corporate, regional, and self-perform levels.
• Participate in and lead corporate safety meetings.
• Lead self-perform preconstruction safety meetings.
• Serve as a trainer for programs including Fall Protection, NFPA Hot Work, First Aid/CPR, MEWP, and Forklift Certification.
• Perform hazard assessments and implement corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; prepare detailed reports and lead root cause analyses.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of PPE and fall protection systems.
• Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and coordinate site-wide safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure completion of pre-task documentation (Fall Protection Plans, Demolition Plans, Silica Exposure Control Plans).
• Maintain safety documentation such as OSHA logs, safety meeting records, and training certifications.
• Work with superintendents to plan safe means and methods for high-risk activities (scaffolding, formwork, heavy lifting, concrete operations).
• Stay current with local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry best practices.
