Job summary

High Country Line Construction, Inc., a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc., seeks a Safety Specialist II to support site safety across electric construction projects. Travel to multiple worksites and mentorship responsibilities are involved to uphold safety standards.

The role emphasizes accident investigations, incident management, and safety planning with Operations and client teams. A background in EHS and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of one safety certification preferred (CSHO/CHST/SMS/SSH/CSP).
• Undergraduate degree in safety-related field preferred; experience in lieu of degree considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accident/injury investigations including root cause analyses.
• Provide support to Operations for incident case management and documentation steps.
• Follow-up with Operations to ensure completion of corrective actions for all accidents.
• Perform ongoing site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions.
• Coordinate safety department meetings and deliver training on safety topics.
• Lead site-specific safety planning and mentor junior safety personnel.
