Job summary

The L.E. Myers Co. seeks a Safety Specialist to oversee safety on electric construction projects across multiple sites, collaborating with field staff, clients, and subcontractors, with travel as needed.

You will develop site-specific safety plans, coach personnel, perform incident investigations, and ensure OSHA compliance while supporting operations and training initiatives.

Minimum 2 years in EHS and relevant certifications are required; a Safety degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in environment, health, and safety (EHS) field roles is required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one safety certification is preferred (CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, CSP).
• Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred; combination of experience and education considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions.
• Coordinate with Operations to create site-specific safety plans and participate in safety meetings.
• Participate in project kick off and progress meetings.
• Support client-specific safety programs and ensure alignment with client expectations and safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
• Coach and mentor project site personnel on safety practices and behaviors.
• Conduct safety observations and PPE hazard assessments; assist in training scheduling.
• Investigate accidents/injuries and perform root cause analyses.
• Support incident case management and corrective actions with Operations.
