Zusammenfassung

The L.E. Myers Co. is seeking a Safety Specialist to support field staff and clients on electric construction projects across our Virginia worksites. This location-based role involves travel and close collaboration with operations, safety, and external organizations.

Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years in EHS roles, a HS diploma or GED, and one safety certification. We value strong communication, teamwork, and travel readiness for site visits.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles is required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one safety certification is preferred (CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, CSP).
• Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred; combination of experience and education considered in lieu of degree.

Aufgaben

• Perform ongoing site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions.
• Coordinate with Operations teams to create site-specific safety plans; participate in safety meetings.
• Participate in project kick off and progress meetings.
• Support client safety requirements programs and ensure alignment with company policies and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Coach and mentor site personnel on safety practices.
• Conduct safety observations and PPE hazard assessments.
• Schedule or facilitate required trainings (orientation, OSHA refresher, client training).
• Conduct accident investigations including root-cause analysis.
• Support incident case management and corrective actions.
• Assist safety committees with performance trend assessment and process improvements.
