Job summary

Southwest Concrete Paving Co. seeks a Safety Supervisor to implement and manage safety programs across active projects, with travel up to 75%.

You will conduct site inspections, enforce OSHA and EM 385 requirements, and coordinate with project teams to integrate safe work practices. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in field safety, current EM 385-1-1 or equivalent, and relevant certifications (e.g., CHST, CSP, OSHA 510).

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil or concrete paving environments.
• Experience with federal construction safety requirements including USACE/NAVFAC and EM 385.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, safety requirements and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary field safety representative on SWCP projects.
• Conduct regular and unannounced jobsite safety inspections and observations.
• Provide guidance on safe work practices and protective measures.
• Exercise stop-work authority when imminent hazards exist and report to management.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
