Job summary

Southwest Concrete Paving Co is a field-based safety leadership role focused on implementing and monitoring safety programs across active construction projects. Travel to multiple sites is required to evaluate conditions and ensure OSHA/EM 385 compliance.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with project management, foremen, and field personnel to promote safe work practices and enforce safety requirements on daily operations. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction safety experience.
• Experience with OSHA and EM 385 regulations.
• Ability to travel up to 75%
• Valid driver's license
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Fluent in English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary field safety representative for assigned SWCP projects.
• Conduct regular and unannounced jobsite safety inspections and observations.
• Evaluate jobsite conditions and work practices to identify hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385, and contract requirements.
• Work with project teams to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on safe work practices and protective measures.
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training.
• Maintain safety documentation including AHAs/JHAs and Site Safety Plans.
• Interface with government safety reps as required.
• Monitor high-risk activities and enforce PPE and other safety programs.
