Job summary

Southern Power Systems is seeking a Field Safety Coordinator to lead the safety program in the field across the Gulf Coast Region. The role includes training, implementing safety policies, and ensuring a safe work environment on customer projects.

You will analyze workplaces, provide safety leadership to crews, ensure OSHA and company compliance, and contribute to training modules and incident investigations. Occasional travel to sites is required to support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 10 years of direct safety experience.
• 5 years in chemical plants, refineries, or substations.
• OSHA 510, OSHA 10 & 30, COSS preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem solving.
• Willingness to travel to field sites.

Responsibilities

• Leads the company safety program in the field; trains and implements safety policies.
• Analyze workplaces and design initiatives to control, eliminate, and prevent injuries.
• Provide safety leadership to crews to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, local and corporate policies.
• Conduct safety meetings and train employees in safe construction methods and operations.
• Monitor adherence to safety rules on customer projects.
• Advise management on working conditions and safety improvements.
• Assist in updating training modules with current regulations.
• Investigate accidents to identify causes and preventive measures.
• Assist Safety Manager with data collection and records.
