Job summary

CF Industries in Donaldsonville, LA, is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to support Operations, Maintenance, and contractor workforce by implementing safety programs, coaching on hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigations, and by conducting field safety audits.

The position requires a strong working knowledge of OSHA standards, federal, state, and local regulations, plus the ability to develop and revise EHSS procedures and to deliver safety training

Qualifications

• Experience with health, safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental standards and their application in the field.
• Experience with safety audits and inspections.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices and conditions within the complex by coaching employees.
• Retain understanding of processes and regulatory safety requirements to aid compliance.
• Collect safety suggestions and respond in a timely manner.
• Foster discussions on new safety programs and initiatives.
• Assist in developing and revising EHSS procedures for a safe work environment.
• Support plant supervision in addressing safety concerns and implementing practices.
• Initiate controls (engineering, administrative, PPE) to reduce hazards.
• Participate in Job Hazard/Safety Analyses in assigned areas.
• Research resources to ensure compliance with safety programs.
