Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a Safety Manager to assist the Division Safety Leader in enforcing OSHA rules across our DC, MD, VA and WI markets. The role emphasizes inspections, reporting, and leading safety initiatives to prevent injuries and ensure compliance at field sites and facilities.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field, 7–10 years of experience, and multiple OSHA certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline preferred.
• 7–10 years’ experience in safety field with employee training.
• Certifications in CPR and First Aid required.
• OSHA 10hr, 30hr, 40hr training required.
• OSHA 500, NFPA 70E, CHST or ASP certifications required.
• CSP preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926, CFR 1910 and EM 385.
• Strong communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Tours and inspects job sites to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Reports concerns and enforces safety policies.
• Documents inspections and recommends corrective actions.
• Maintains safety documentation and training logs.
• Provides emergency response and assists investigations.
• Updates training materials and conducts employee training.
• Leads safety projects and mentors junior staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
