Job summary

Engtal is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee safety on civil and utility construction projects across New England with regional travel, collaborating directly with field teams and leadership to ensure robust safety practices.

The role focuses on site inspections, program development, JHA/JSA reviews, and training to build a proactive safety culture, while ensuring OSHA compliance and comprehensive incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing safety programs on civil/utility construction sites.
• Ability to coach field crews and drive safety culture on site.
• Strong communication and incident investigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and safety audits to enforce compliance.
• Support project-specific safety planning and JHA/JSA reviews.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety trainings for crews.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and manage corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation and ensure OSHA standards are met.
• Collaborate with project leadership to identify and mitigate risks.
• Foster accountability and continuous safety improvement in the field.
