Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and incident investigations across our facilities. The role involves coordinating safety training, conducting inspections, and ensuring OSHA standards are met to protect workers and assets.

You will partner with project managers and branch leaders to develop site-specific safety plans, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and proactive programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety management role.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Working knowledge experience of Safety Management Systems.
• Experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Experience working with health and safety regulatory compliance agencies at the local, state and federal levels.
• Experience working with / in state workers compensation system.
• Experience in analyzing information in accident / incident investigations.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Daily, weekly, and monthly physical plant inspection.
• Assess and prioritize the needs of each facility and indicate the level of personal involvement needed to complete required safety functions.
• Conduct monthly safety inspection at each facility in conjunction with facility Safety Coordinator and manager.
• Coordinate/facilitate required training including new employee orientation, annual required re‑training, or site specific equipment safeguards.
• Monitor training for completion and identify deficiencies to be addressed; assist facility to develop corrective action, if needed.
• Provide expertise and resource to Plant Managers, Operation Managers and employees.
• Reporting of safety stats/reports to the manager to include: IR Rates, accident analysis, safety accomplishments, and outstanding safety issues.
• Ensure safety programs are compliant (Injury Illness Prevention, Hazard Identification, Hazard Control and Correction, CMC safety regulations, policies and procedures).
• Conduct New Employee Orientation training.
• Conduct OSHA compliance training.
• Monitor, organize and administer OSHA and CMC documentation compliance.
• Visit job sites requiring field interaction with contractor and identify areas of risk and hazards.
• Advise each Branch Manager on compliance with OSHA and CMC safety regulations and policies.
• Prepare job specific safety plans for the customer, foreman, and project managers to include AHA’s, SDS’s, EAP, and CMC safety programs and policies.
• Monitor, organize and if necessary, administer required training and certifications for each branch employee.
• Completion and filing of all required OSHA and insurance documentation (OSHA 300, OSHA 301 and First Report of Injury).
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for developing and executing strategic safety initiatives.
