Job summary

Kokosing, a leading general contractor, seeks a Safety and Health professional to support field operations in Point Pleasant, WV. You will help implement company safety policies, conduct trainings, and coordinate with subcontractors to uphold regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in Safety and Health and 5+ years in construction safety, with BCSP certifications preferred. Applicants must be able to work long hours, including nights and weekends, on a heavy civil project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent combinations of training and experience.
• Targeting 5+ years of safety/health in construction is preferred.
• Experience with project safety programs and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategies to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Provide training on safety and health requirements to personnel.
• Support pre-job safety planning and emergency response planning.
• Lead safety meetings and training programs for policy communication.
• Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in investigating injuries and incidents.
• Issue regular safety correspondence and updates on regulatory changes.
• Identify team members needing safety training or support.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and vendors.
• Serve as point of contact for OSHA and other authorities when needed.
