Construction Safety Lead: Field Health & Compliance

Job summary

Kokosing, a leading general contractor, seeks an experienced Safety and Health professional to support field operations. You will implement company safety policies and drive regulatory compliance across projects.

Responsibilities include developing safety plans, delivering training, conducting audits, investigations, and coordinating with subcontractors to uphold safety standards. A CHST certification and OSHA knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
• 5+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations and company safety policies.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in high production environments (50+ hours/week) including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Provide training and education on safety and health requirements.
• Support pre-job safety planning and emergency response planning for projects.
• Initiate and lead safety meetings and training programs.
• Conduct safety, health audits, inspections and corrective actions.
• Assist in investigating injuries and incidents.
• Develop and issue safety correspondence and update teams on regulatory changes.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and third parties.
• Serve as a point of contact for OSHA and other authorities when needed.
