Job summary

Kokosing, a leading general contractor, seeks a Safety and Health professional to implement and supervise field safety programs across diverse projects. You will coordinate training, audits and incident investigations to ensure regulatory compliance and safe work practices on site.

Ideal candidates hold a BCSP credential and a Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health, with 5+ years in construction safety. OCJO compliance and 50+ hours/week work expectations may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
• Targeting 5+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry; project types a strong plus.
• BCSP certification (ASP, CSP, CHST) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to reduce injuries, illnesses and incidents.
• Provide training and education on safety and health requirements to personnel.
• Support pre-job safety meetings and develop emergency response plans.
• Lead safety meetings and training programs for policy communication.
• Audit, evaluate, inspect and observe safety programs and drive corrective actions.
• Assist in investigating injuries and general liability incidents.
• Develop and issue regular safety communications.
• Update team on regulatory changes and company requirements.
• Identify team members needing safety assistance or training.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors, vendors and third parties.
• Serve as contact with OSHA and other authorities when Safety Manager is unavailable.
