Job summary

Northern Lights Locating & Inspection is seeking a Safety Specialist to oversee and implement safety programs for both facility and field operations. You will monitor conditions, conduct audits, and guide compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and related regulations, partnering with the Safety Manager to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or related field preferred.
• Cert CSP, ASP or CHMM are strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel 75%+ for field audits, training sessions, and meetings.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Safety Manager in daily safety program tasks and meetings.
• Coordinate safety initiatives across departments to align with company goals.
• Track safety metrics and compile data for reports for the Safety Manager.
• Serve as liaison between employees and management on safety concerns.
• Assist with incident follow-ups and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Organize regular safety audits and inspections across the facility.
• Support budget tracking for safety equipment and training programs.
• Maintain safety documentation for compliance audits and reference.
• Monitor changes in safety regulations and adjust policies accordingly.
• Coordinate with external vendors for safety equipment and training.
