Job summary

Formic is seeking a Robotics Field Service Technician to join the Fleet Operations team in the United States. You will perform preventive maintenance, directed repairs, and provide on-site technical support within customer facilities, advocating safety and precise documentation.

Role requires hands-on maintenance experience with robotic or industrial systems, strong troubleshooting, CMMS usage, and significant travel.

Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on field service or maintenance experience supporting robotic or industrial automation systems.
Solid troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, PLC, or robotic control systems.
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings.
Experience using CMMS platforms to track and report maintenance activity.
Willingness to travel up to 80% locally and overnight travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells following established checklists and procedures.
Perform directed corrective maintenance and repairs as assigned by engineering, dispatch, or senior technicians.
Respond to on-site service calls, follow structured troubleshooting steps, and escalate complex or unresolved issues to engineering.
Provide hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams.
Log service activity, asset updates, and spare part requirements in CMMS systems.
Follow assigned field schedules and coordinate day-to-day logistics with customers and internal stakeholders.
Monitor system performance using Formic dashboards and fleet tools, and report anomalies to engineering.
Document service work and follow-up actions with clarity and precision.
Flag recurring issues or failure patterns to engineering for further investigation.
Build professional, trusted relationships with plant managers and site personnel.
Operate with strict adherence to safety standards, including LOTO and industrial compliance.
Support RCA sessions, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives as directed.
Continuously build technical skills across robotics, controls, networking, and industrial systems.
