Job summary

Amazon Inc. is hiring a Systems Engineer I for the Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovation (RDPI) Technology Deployment team.

You will lead field deployments of robotic and automation technologies across North America, collaborating with cross-functional teams to install, commission and troubleshoot systems in fulfillment centers. The role requires strong technical skills in electro-mechanical and network systems, plus willingness to travel up to 75% or more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or related STEM field.
• Experience in data analysis to inform decision-making.
• 1+ year experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models (mechanical/electrical).
• 1+ year experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and develop technical documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems and deployments.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the US and potentially internationally.

Responsibilities

• You will support and guide installation of robotics, packaging and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers.
• You will develop knowledge of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting on site and remotely.
• You will manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers.
• You will collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers.
• You will travel to project sites and collaborate both virtually and in person to align stakeholders on program status.
• You will manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management.
• You will work on continuous improvement activities to improve the projects in your space.
• You will generate and implement continuous improvement ideas around work-scopes.
• You will lead teams of other engineers on projects.
• You will travel to live warehouses and new construction sites with heavy travel.
• You will travel to project sites across North America, up to 75% or more.
