Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Robot Field Engineer to support pilot deployments at customer sites. You will oversee and operate robotic systems in pilot environments to meet operational goals.

You will collaborate with the Maven Autonomy and Controls teams to execute on-site test plans, perform first-level software triage, and report findings to the engineering team. Required: BS in Robotics/CS/EE/ME, hands-on robotics experience, strong C++/Python skills, ROS2 and Linux, and familiarity with CANOpen,

Qualifications

• BS in Robotics, CS, EE, ME or closely related field.
• Hands-on experience with complex robotic or electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency with C++/Python programming languages and ROS2 and Linux-based development environments.
• Working knowledge of robotics networking protocols (CANOpen, EtherCAT, UART).
• Ability to travel 40-50% to customer facilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and operate robotic systems within pilot environments to meet operational goals.
• Coordinate with the customer engineering team and collect feedback to ensure the solution meets expectations.
• Collaborate with Maven Autonomy and Controls teams to execute on-site test plans.
• Conduct first-level software triage and diagnose operational issues, reporting findings to engineering.
• Integrate robotic solutions with customer systems.
• Monitor and manage robot task success rate and throughput.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on robotic hardware and electromechanical systems.
• Repair or replace electrical and mechanical components as necessary.
