Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Field Service & Deployment Engineer to join our Field Operations team. You will deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support autonomous forklift systems at customer sites, traveling up to 100% and collaborating with Engineering and Support teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering/Robotics (or equivalent hands-on experience) and 2+ years in field service or robotics, with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in field service, robotics, automation, industrial equipment, or a similar technical role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and basic software systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers and cross‑functional internal teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently, valid driver’s license, and ability to lift or work around industrial equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support on-site deployments of autonomous robotic systems, including installation, calibration, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in real time to minimize downtime and restore system performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system health checks to ensure reliable operation.
• Support remote diagnostics and respond to escalations in partnership with Engineering and Technical Support teams.
• Train customer operators and site personnel on system operation, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Document all field service activity including repairs, troubleshooting steps, photos, and site conditions for internal tracking and continuous improvement.
• Travel frequently to customer sites (up to 100%) and work independently in dynamic warehouse and industrial environments.
