Job summary

Whataburger Restaurants is seeking a detail‑oriented Restaurant Maintenance Technician to keep our kitchens and facilities running safely at multiple locations. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen systems, driving uptime and guest satisfaction across the market.

The role requires full-time availability, on-call rotation, and travel to worksites, with a focus on timely, quality work and adherence to SLAs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ year field experience in HVAC and commercial refrigeration.
• 1+ year experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
• EPA or CFC Certification.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment systems.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, and intermediate electrical skills.
• Ability to travel locally and long distances including air travel.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet MVR standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies to restore functionality.
• Maintain work orders, documentation, and inventory in company systems.
• Coordinate with operations and vendors; supervise third-party vendors when needed.
• Possess strong safety awareness and adhere to SLAs and policies.
