Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Restaurant Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen systems across multiple locations. You’ll complete repairs, document outcomes, and ensure safety and efficiency in restaurant facilities.

You will travel to partner with Operations, support after-hours maintenance, and maintain strong relationships with leaders and teams in the field. A strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and inventory control is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent work experience acceptable.
• 1+ year field experience in HVAC and commercial refrigeration.
• 1+ year repairing commercial kitchen equipment or equivalent technical education.
• EPA or CFC Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, and beverage systems.
• Respond to service calls and urgent maintenance to restore functionality.
• Complete repairs and document outcomes per SLAs and work orders.
• Coordinate with restaurant leadership and vendors; supervise third-party contractors as needed.
• Manage inventory, tools, and vehicle in a safe, organized manner.
• Support restaurant operations during after-hours, on-call, or travel as required.
