Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. The role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

The candidate will maintain ventilator knowledge, perform assessments, participate in discharge planning, and instruct patients and caregivers on equipment use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments, including review of ventilator records and care plans
• Discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients and smooth transitions to home
• Instruct patients, caregivers, and professionals on ventilator use and equipment
• Provide clinical follow up with physicians and referrals
• Conduct in-services on equipment and topics
• Document all patient care activities accurately
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and required checklists
• Ensure documentation supports quality tracking and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with peers to resolve issues and optimize outcomes
• Communicate clearly about patient care and operational needs
• Participate in on-call rotation as required
• Complete compliance training and adhere to the program
• Perform other related duties as assigned
