Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care for ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. You will educate, assess, and collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure safe, coordinated outcomes outside the hospital.

The role emphasizes hands-on patient care, education, and coordination with discharge planning, with travel to field sites and some in-office work as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in AMA-approved respiratory program required.
• 1 year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure preferred.
• Active Respiratory Therapist license in all serviced states required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products and guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and sources.
• Participate in discharge planning and home transitions for ventilator-dependent patients.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator units and equipment usage.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in company systems.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and required checklists.
