Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a mission-driven engineer to debug and fix real-world issues on fielded autonomous systems. You will reproduce anomalies, identify root causes, and ship robust fixes in the main codebase across Rust, C++, Python, or Go.

You’ll operate close to hardware and sensors, validate changes in simulated or hardware-in-the-loop environments, and document root causes and fixes for future reliability. Some travel will be required.

Qualifications

  • Real experience debugging code you didn’t write under time pressure.
  • Comfort with Rust, modern C++, Python or Go to read and fix bugs.
  • Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana-class metrics, Loki/ELK-class logs).
  • Linux and systems fluency; ability to work near hardware and sensors.
  • Willingness to travel 25%+ of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Take a field-reported anomaly and identify the real subsystem at fault.
  • Reproduce it with real data and visualize the state for diagnosis.
  • Use existing metrics/logs to reconstruct system state at failure.
  • Confirm fixes in a simulated or hardware-in-the-loop environment.
  • Write fixes in the actual subsystem language with tests and CI checks.
  • Document root cause and fix for each closed issue.
  • Push back to owning teams when a deeper subsystem change is needed.
