Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 1 for field-based operations. You will operate and maintain on-track maintenance equipment and vehicles, with supervision, across various platforms as needed by the business.

The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, safety discipline, and the ability to complete field reports and documentation. Starting pay is $20.00–$21.00 per hour with travel and site-based duties across US locations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years demonstrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and machine operations experience.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred where applicable.
• Pre-employment requirements include DOT physical, background checks and drug testing.
• Maintain railroad certifications as required by Loram customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect Loram on-track maintenance equipment and vehicles.
• Record parts usage and maintenance actions for supervision.
• Perform maintenance and repairs per schedules and policies.
• Document daily field reports, expenses, lodging and other administrative tasks.
• Explain on-track safety procedures and emergency equipment when needed.
