Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to operate, maintain and repair on-track railway maintenance equipment. This field-based role may work on Loram’s on-track MOW equipment and vehicles under supervision, with assignments to various platforms as needed.

The position requires safety-focused work, pre-employment checks, and travel up to 100%. Starting pay is $20.00–$21.00 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package available.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety-focused field operations and ability to lead job briefings.
• Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and machine operation skills.
• Ability to document parts used and field reports accurately.
• Willingness to travel 100% and work in railroad environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive job briefings during operations and maintenance tasks.
• Perform machine inspections, identify issues and report conditions to supervisors.
• Record parts used and maintain daily field and expense reports.
• Complete reports and documentation related to field operations and lodging.
