Job summary

Mid-State Industrial Maintenance seeks a QA/QC Inspector / Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for field work across outage, maintenance, repair, and capital projects at power generation and heavy industrial facilities. You will inspect welding, boiler, piping, and structural activities to ensure compliance with codes, specs, procedures, drawings and quality requirements.

This role requires extensive travel, nights and weekends on outage schedules, and the ability to read weld symbols, WPS/PQRs,

Qualifications

• CWI certification and welding inspection knowledge required.
• Ability to read blueprints, WPS/PQRs, and inspection documents.
• Experience with field inspections and quality documentation.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work outage schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of welding, boiler, piping, structural, and repair activities.
• Verify compliance with codes, specs, procedures, drawings, and quality plans.
• Review WPSs, PQRs, welder qualifications, and test documentation.
• Interpret drawings, weld symbols, and inspection requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams, customers, and NDE providers.
• Monitor NDE and testing activities (RT, MT, PT, PWHT).
• Support welder qualification testing and continuity compliance.
• Perform receiving inspections and material verification.
• Document and report quality issues and nonconformances.
• Maintain calibration of inspection equipment and records.
