Job summary

Sterling Industrial is a multi-craft union contractor providing civil, structural, mechanical and electrical services for new construction and maintenance projects. We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to interpret industry codes and perform inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, power piping and structural steel.

The role requires strong communication, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to manage outages and coordinate with plant personnel and third party inspectors 24/7.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have CWI certification.
• Excellent communication with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Interpret AWS, ASME, NBIC and Jurisdictional Codes and apply to field work.
• Inspect boilers, pressure vessels, power piping and structural steel.
• Administer weld tests for union crafts and maintain qualification records.
• Coordinate outages with union crafts, plant personnel and inspectors.
• Maintain traceability of welding during outages and prepare inspection reports.
