Job summary

SPC Mechanical Corporation is seeking a Certified Weld Inspector to support QA/QC for select projects. The role involves reviewing weld maps, welder certifications, and logs, with onsite visual verification as needed.

You will lead QA/QC validators, ensure welding procedures are followed, and help maintain site QA/QC manuals and logs in coordination with the Construction Administrator. Travel across the state may be required.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification and QA/QC inspection experience.
• Must be able to travel across North Carolina and beyond as project needs.
• Strong documentation practices and GDP-compliant recordkeeping.
• Deep understanding of ASME codes and state/national regulations.
• Proficiency with weld logs, weld maps, continuity logs and weld procedures.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills for diverse teams.
• Proficient with MS Office and multiple software platforms.
• Ability to read/interpret construction documents and contracts.
• Create and track non-conformance reports (NCRs) with supervisor sign-off.
• Work safely on construction sites and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Manager QA/QC Validators assigned to the project and manage manpower.
• Oversee weld quality and adherence to weld procedures.
• Assist in developing/maintaining site QA/QC Manual.
• Create job-specific weld logs and naming conventions; ensure specs met.
• Coordinate drawings/ISO’s and Weld Maps with teams.
• Maintain certification/calibration/continuity log with Construction Administrator.
• Participate in meetings and ensure procedures are followed.
• Ensure work on site meets project requirements and is workmanlike.
• Other duties as required for project success.
