Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field Engineering Technician to perform field inspections of utility poles across New England, including CT, MA, NY and NH. The role is hourly, full-time with hours contingent on workload and travel requirements.

The successful candidate will collect data, measurements and photos, coordinate with pole owners, and document maintenance concerns to support Leidos designers in developing solutions. Overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma
• AS/BS in engineering or related STEM field preferred
• Experience in field work and distribution component identification
• Ability to work in team and independently to meet deadlines
• Must be local to the area
• Knowledge of NESC Standards and client standards helpful
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Willingness to perform both field and office work
• Ability to work long days in outdoor environments
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Travel around New England (CT, MA, NY, NH) to collect data, field measurements, and photos of utility poles.
• Meet with joint pole owners to determine attachment heights for new third-party attachers.
• Document maintenance concerns and collect data to support Leidos designers.
• Meet weekly goals and communicate status and progress to supervisor.
• Learn field skills with potential for design work as experience grows.
