Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field Engineering Technician to perform field inspections of utility poles across New England, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and New Hampshire. This hourly full-time role requires traveling to collect data, measurements, and photos, and coordinating with pole owners to determine attachment heights.

Documentation of maintenance concerns aids Leidos designers, with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Preferred experience in power distribution or engineering degree.
• Experience in fieldwork and distribution component identification.
• Ability to work in both team and independent environments and to meet deadlines.
• Must be local to the area.
• Knowledge of NESC Standards beneficial.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Willingness to perform both field and office work.
• Ability to work long days outdoors.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of utility poles across New England (CT/MA/NY/NH).
• Collect data, measurements and photos of poles.
• Meet with joint pole owners to determine attachment heights for new attachers.
• Document maintenance concerns for design teams.
• Travel with occasional overnight stays as workload requires.
• Adhere to Leidos safety procedures and report progress daily.
