Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field Engineering Technician to provide field inspections of utility poles across New England. The role requires extensive outdoor fieldwork with travel within CT, MA, NY, NH and occasional overnight stays.

The position is hourly and full-time, with hours contingent on workload and safety requirements. The successful candidate will collect data, perform measurements, and photograph poles, meeting with pole owners to determine attachment heights.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• AS/BS in engineering or related STEM field preferred.
• Experience in fieldwork and distribution component identification.
• Ability to work independently or in a team and meet deadlines.
• Must be local to the area.
• Knowledge of NESC standards is helpful.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to perform both field and office work.
• Ability to work long days outdoors.
• Valid driver''s license.

Responsibilities

• Travel across New England to collect data, measurements, and photos of utility poles.
• Meet joint pole owners to determine attachment heights for new 3rd party attachers.
• Document maintenance concerns and collect data for Leidos designers.
• Meet weekly goals and communicate progress with supervisor.
• Field and office work as needed.
