Job summary

Vylor, based in Lubbock, TX, is seeking a Phenotyping Specialist to support corn, sorghum, and cotton field programs. You will handle phenotyping, data validation, and cross-team communication to ensure timely, high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, or related field.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database systems).
  • Ability to independently solve problems by asking the right questions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
  • Self-motivated with a "get-it-done" mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and travel overnight seasonally.

Responsibilities

  • Phenotyping & Data Quality: Support next-generation phenotyping efforts and ensure data integrity.
  • Field Operations & Seed Production: Conduct planting, scouting, phenotyping, threshing, ginning, and harvest.
  • Safety Leadership & Program Support: Support site safety programs and promote safe work behaviors.
  • Team Support & Leadership: Organize and supervise part-time and seasonal staff.
  • Field Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor trials and seed locations, report field conditions.
  • Data Management: Use Corteva systems to manage large data volumes and maintain records.
