Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Test Engineer to perform protection and controls field testing and commissioning across utility, co-op, and municipal customers in the U.S. This role helps develop safety and compliance programs, standardize processes, and strengthen customer relationships.

The position requires 1–3 years of experience with HV protection and control equipment, familiarity with SEL, GE, ABB, Westinghouse relays, plus RTUs and telecom gear.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in electrical testing, focusing on protection and control equipment.
• Knowledge of HV protection and control gear is required.
• Experience with transmission/distribution relays (SEL, GE, ABB, Westinghouse).

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing including relay protection testing, breaker testing, transformer testing, instrument transformer testing, and control circuit verifications.
• Execute end-to-end testing and verify relay logic and trip paths.
• Review scopes of work (SOW) and drawings; develop detailed procedures and checkout summaries.
• Compile test results into professional reports and share lessons learned.
