Job summary

POWERX Co. is seeking a P&CTest Engineer to provide Protection & Controls field testing and commissioning services across the Southern U.S. You will support safety programs, standardize processes, and strengthen customer relationships with utility, co-op, and municipal clients.

The role requires 1–3 years in electrical testing, proficiency with relay protection, and familiarity with NERC CIP standards. Travel to sites will be required, with a focus on quality and safety in every project.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in electrical testing with protection and control equipment focus
• Experience with HV utility, co-op, municipal clients preferred
• Ability to read wire schematics and electrical wiring techniques
• Familiar with NERC CIP requirements and safety protocols

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing including relay protection, breaker, transformer, instrument transformer testing and control verifications
• Execute end-to-end testing and verify relay logic and trip paths
• Develop detailed procedures and checkouts, determine commissioning plans
• Prepare professional test reports and lessons learned
• Assist with SME support and safety/operational procedure improvements
