Job summary

POWERX seeks a PCTest Engineer to provide Protection & Controls (P&C) field testing and commissioning across the Southern U.S. This role ensures safe, high-quality work for utility, co-op, and municipal customers, while helping develop safety and compliance programs and strengthen customer relationships.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in the electrical testing industry, with exposure to relays (SEL, GE, ABB, Westinghouse), HV substations, RTUs, and telecom gear.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in electrical testing with protection and control equipment, RTUs, and telecom for HV utilities, co-ops, power generation, federal or municipal clients.
• Strong procedure writing and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with relay protection, breaker, transformer, and instrument transformer testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing including relay protection, breaker, transformer, instrument transformer testing, and control circuit verifications.
• Execute end-to-end testing and ensure accuracy of relay logic and trip paths.
• Review scopes of work and drawings; develop procedures and checkout summaries; plan commissioning and schedules.
