Job summary

Omaha Public Power District is seeking two Field Collector III professionals to join our Customer Service field operations team in Omaha. The role focuses on field collection activities, meter work, service disconnects and reconnects, and other customer-facing field assignments.

This hands-on position spends much of the day in the field, interacting directly with customers while following established procedures, safety expectations, and payment-extension guidelines.

Qualifications

• Provide strong customer service in field situations.
• Follow established procedures while using sound judgment in the field.
• Stay organized and document work accurately.
• Manage a daily workload with limited supervision.
• Recognize situations that need escalation.
• Safely operate company vehicles and maintain reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine field collection activities, including service disconnects/reconnects and meter readings.
• Visit customer locations to assist with payment collection and explain financial-assistance options.
• Perform routine meter-related work and document meter status and readings for billing.
• Identify and report suspected unauthorized service usage or diversions and escalate as needed.
• Support special investigations and programs in the field.
• Obtain keys/access materials needed to reach meters and assist with basic inventory maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of field activities.
