Job summary

Omaha Public Power District is seeking an entry-level Substation Modification & Compliance Engineer I to support reliability and regulatory compliance for substations. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Document breaker, transformer, and oil test results to support maintenance accuracy and regulatory requirements
• Support the Protection System Maintenance Program through record entry, scheduling assistance, and progress tracking
• Update basic asset parameters and maintenance records in Cascade to improve data accuracy
• Assist Field Supervisors with routine work-order coordination to align maintenance tasks with outage plans
• Conduct supervised field observations to verify installation details and learn substation equipment characteristics
• Help gather compliance documentation and prepare audit materials for NERC, SIP, and environmental requirements
• Provide foundational engineering evaluations that help identify straightforward issues and support maintenance decisions
