Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Transportation Manager to lead field-based driver teams, oversee daily transportation operations, and foster a strong safety-first culture. The role emphasizes coaching, mentoring, and developing drivers while ensuring DOT compliance and efficient route execution.

The ideal candidate will bring solid knowledge of transportation logistics, proven driver management experience, and a passion for coaching and performance

Experience with DOT regulations and transportation logistics.
Proven ability to manage driver teams.
Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities.
Commitment to safety-first culture.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily transportation operations and field-based driver teams.
Conduct route observations and ride-alongs to ensure efficiency and safety.
Provide onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for drivers and helpers.
Maintain and document regulatory compliance records (e.g., DVIRs, driver time and attendance).
Engage with frontline employees daily to support onboarding and career development.
Identify improvement opportunities and drive safety, service, and performance initiatives.
