Job summary

WM is seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Transportation Manager to lead field-based driver teams in Florida. The role focuses on onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and performance management, with substantial time in the field and a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and WM values.

The ideal candidate will bring DOT regulatory knowledge, proven leadership in driver teams, and a passion for coaching and developing drivers, with preferred WM Operations Manager Trainee program

Qualifications

• Minimum Associates Degree or high school diploma with relevant experience.
• Driver's license valid at hire and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Preferred: WM Operations Manager Trainee program.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor, and manage driver performance.
• Spend majority of time in the field with frontline employees.
• Ensure safety-first culture and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Maintain records required by regulatory agencies (e.g., DOT).
• Conduct route observations and ride-alongs to improve daily performance.
